Zoella Sweet Inspirations Review

When Zoella released her 'New Beauty Launch' video, I knew that I had to get a few items to review. There's just something about this new range that appeals to me, I think it may be the packaging? It just looks so cute and relaxing. So when it came to the morning of the 27th May 2016 I logged onto my MAC and pretty much bought all of the range from Superdrug (all but the Body Fondant, Body Mist and 'Life Is Sweet' bag because they were all out of stock). I bought next day delivery, but I was really gutted because the products didn't arrive until Tuesday (naughty Superdrug). But now I am happy to have them in my life, so here are a few of my honest thoughts on them (I went more into detail in my Zoella Sweet Inspirations Review video on YouTube, here).

'Your skin will love you a latte'- I just love this pun on the Zoella Bath Latte bottle. Talking about the bottle, how flippin' cute is it? It looks like a little milk bottle that ought to be left on your porch door step. This shower and bath milk is enriched with sweet almond, cacao and honey which makes it the perfect go to product if your skin is sensitive and thirsty. What impressed me the most was the amount of bubbles it produced... I have never known a bath milk to do this! After getting out of the bath, I then used my Zoella Double Creme Body Lotion which encased my skin in this gorgeous macaroon scent.

You all know me, I love a good bath bomb or a bath fizzler. But is the Zoella Le Fizz Fragrance Bath Fizzer as good as LUSH bath bomb? Unfortunately not. Whilst this fizz bar may not turn your bath water a different colour or create some exquisite popping sounds, it sure does leave the your bath water smelling delicious (like macaroons in fact!). I found that I had to use at least four sections per one bath, but the product did an excellent job in making my bath water feel a lot softer. The Zoella Sugar Dip Scented Bath Salt Granules smell devine- they almost remind me of a dib dab! These are amazing to use in combination with the Zoella Bath Latte and felt as though my skin had taken a trip to the local spa (ooh the Zoella Spa, I like).

Above: Zoella Double Creme Body Lotion & Zoella Sugar Dip
This Zoella Candy Clutch Bag was a must buy, I absolutely love its design and it almost reminds me of my own black and white stripe theme that I have going on over here. Personally I love that you have the option to make the bag as small or as big as you like- making it the perfect makeup or toiletry bag.

Have you purchase any of Zoella's new Sweet Inspirations products? What's your favourite?

Lola Striped Oversized Shirt & The Perfect Black Jegging

Once upon a time I used to hate wearing shirts, but all thanks to my River Island denim shirt which can be seen in my 'The Perfect Denim Shirt post', I have become a little obsessed. Whilst surfing the internet in search for two new casual outfits, I came across this easy going Lola Striped Oversized Shirt from Boohoo which I thought would make the perfect casual/work wear top. However when it comes to a shirt's length, I am one fussy customer. A shirt for me cannot be too short (unless it is meant to be tucked in), or it must be oversized... otherwise I am not happy. As you can see with this Lola Striped Oversized Shirt, it is perfectly oversized and I have even gone for a half tucked in look which I think looks super cute. This shirt only set me back £15.00... what a bargain!

The bargain of the day actually came from these high waisted black denim jeggings from Boohoo which only cost £10.00! (I would link you to the website, but it appears that I may of stolen the last pair). If I had a choice between buying a pair of black denim jeans, or buying a black pair of denim jeggings, I will always go for the latter. Jeggings are so much more comfortable and body friendly I think! Despite my pair no longer being in stock, Boohoo actually are my current favourite affordable brand to buy jeggings, jeans and leggings from. So be sure to go and check them out (I am currently eyeing up a pair of Tara Mid Rise Biker Skinny Jeans).

Lastly, I just need to apologise for not being as present on Twitter, Instagram and even on here recently. In the last few weeks I have had a lot go on in my personal life, but I promise that I am now back (no more skipping post deadlines!). I post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Have you bought anything exciting from Boohoo recently? Would you wear a shirt like this? Let me know in the comments.

Style of a Student Loan| The Perfect Outfit For Under £50!

So with University and school soon to be out for the Summer, some of your purses may be looking a little less 'flush' after taking some time off for revision. But it's ok, New Look will always be able to sort you out with something. Being an ex student myself, I know how important it is to buy an outfit that can suit more than one occasion (FYI, I still find tactical buys the best). Knowing that most of you guys have Summer Balls, A Level parties, festivals or just a parties in general, I have come up with this easy combo that will be perfect for any occasion.

You can shop Student Style on the New Look website by clicking here
This White Premium Lace Panel Dress by New Look is just gorgeous and you can dress it up or down pretty easily. Whether you pair this playsuit with some wellies or killer stilettos, this outfit will still come top in any versatility competition. For this look I was going for more of a casual day style, but I can definitely see myself wearing it with my pink Hunter wellies and floral headband for Glastonbury. Or alternatively some strappy heels for when I next go out for some drinks with the girls. I absolutely love its lace detail and it is probably one of the most comfortable playsuits that I have ever worn.

I currently have an obsession for cat eye sunglasses so it was no surprise that I got these Brown Tortoiseshell Cat Eye Sunglasses. Personally when I go anywhere adventurous (let's say a festival or a theme park) I would never take a pair of expensive sunglasses with me, so having a pair of affordable yet stylish sunglasses is pretty handy to have. These sunglasses only cost £5.99 so be sure to purchase a good pair of sunglasses from New Look this Summer (you won't regret it!).

After buying a pair of strappy heels for the UK Blog Awards (post here), I have since been obsessed with all things straps (especially when it comes to shoes). So when I saw these Cream Suedette Ribbon Ghillie Sandals, I didn't have to think twice about adding them to my purchase list. What I love about these shoes is that you can have them as tight as you like and you can also style them differently. Whether you want a 'gladiator' look and tie the straps up your leg, or more of a simple look by tying them around your ankles, the choice is up to you. See, told you that this outfit was going to be versatile!

Be sure to check out my brand new YouTube video where you can find out 50 interesting facts about me (here). I talk about my childhood, anxiety and being a boy... yeah you're just going to have to watch it!

Have you seen anything that you like on New Look recently?

Current LUSH Favourites

Now we all know that it is no hidden lie that I am one major LUSH fan, I mean, in my latest video and post I tried eating some of their products to see if they tasted nice (errr yeah, it’s definitely worth the watch (here)). So now knowing that LUSH jellies really do not taste like a Rowntree Jelly Pot, and ‘Sexy Peel’ orange soap doesn’t taste all that bad, I was now intrigued to try out some new products for myself (not for tasting don’t worry).

Even when I worked at LUSH, the jellies were never my thing. In my own opinion they don’t particularly lather up very well and nor are they easy to wash with (slippy little buggers they are). So you could say that I bought ‘Refresher Jelly’ solely for the purpose of eating it in my recent ‘How Not To Use LUSH Products’. Having bought it for £3.75 (which in my opinion is quite expensive) I had to at least give it a go. The smell of the Refresher Jelly is amazing, it’s citrusy, fresh and everything that you would want in a refreshing shower jelly. However it didn’t lather up very well and  they are still incredibly hard to wash with. Despite this, I do think they are amazing for kids (I mean how cool is it to have a piece of jelly with you in the bath?) and they are beautiful to use when they are frozen (trust me they are a god send on hot and sunny day!). So not a total waste of money me thinks.

Believe it or not, I haven’t used a fresh LUSH face mask since I left working there 2 and a half years ago! I know how could I let this happen? But don’t worry I haven’t exactly been neglecting my skin this whole time. Some of you will know that I am a major Mask of Magnaminty fan- I just love how minty, fresh and clean it leaves my face (it is honestly one of the best face masks that I have ever tried). But unfortunately as Mask of Magnaminty didn't look like something I could eat, I turned to ‘Cupcake’ where most LUSH customers mistake it for a chocolate mousse (yep for real!). This facemask is perfect if you have oily and troubled skin- the talc and Rhassoul mud helps to absorb excess oil, and the spearmint and peppermint oil helps to cleanse troubled skin. My skin felt super smooth after leaving it on for 15 minutes, but I must say that it is rather difficult to get off (so it's best to take it off in the shower).

Now it wouldn't be a LUSH post if I didn't throw in a few bath bombs into the mix! So let's meet some of my current favourites. Now it's no shock that Twilight bath bomb, Rose Jam bubbleroon and Strawberry Feels Forever are in there, but Tangled hair treatment is something that I had never tried before. Tangled is a brand new hair treatment where you add hot water to it to make the perfect hot hair treatment. Whilst it may take little while to prepare, this hair treatment made my hair feel ever so soft and I did see a difference in its texture (my hair didn't tangle as much after curling it). Below is a collection of things that I actually bought for a maternity gift (and coincidently some of my favourite bath/shower products). We have Sakura, Honey Bee, Rose Jam, Butterball, Yuzu & Cocoa, Twilight, Strawberry Feels Forever and It's Raining Men Shower Gel... so delicious!

What is your current favourite LUSH products?

Get To Know Me More

Happy Monday everyone! I really hope you all have a wonderful weekend (despite how terrible the weather was here in the UK). So this Monday's post and video is about getting to know me a bit more. So in the 2 and a half years of blogging and 1 and a half years of doing YouTube, I have never hosted a 'Q&A'... well that's now changing. So I went onto all my social media sites and asked you guys to send me in some questions! And boy did you!

Above: click on my thumbnail above to watch my Q&A video
But before you watch my Q&A video on YouTube (here), here are some 10 interesting facts about me just to get you ready:

5. I can only drink half a cup of tea, even you make me half of one, I will still only drink half

6. My sister and I used to make 'TV Shows' and I still have the footage somewhere... potentially a future video idea

My Current Favourite MAC Lipsticks| Persistence and Heroin

Now it’s been a while since I have introduced a number of new favourite MAC lipsticks on this blog, so with the sun shining and my Spring wardrobe soon to be ditch, I thought that a couple of new colours in my makeup case wouldn’t hurt. As you can see from these colours, they are pretty much polar opposites. An electrifying purple and a calm casual taupe… they couldn’t be more black and white could they? Both lipsticks are matte and glide onto the lip like a dream. I must say that I find topping up with a matte lipstick can inevitably make my lips feel a little chappy, but then again, the pigmentation in these MAC lipsticks do last a very long time on the lip so I find myself only topping up after I have eaten.

Persistance is a peachy cinnamon colour which makes the perfect everyday lipstick (I am currently so obsessed with it). It pretty much goes with anything (particularly with a rose gold eye) and I wore it to the UK Blog Awards in April (click here). I originally went to MAC with the intention in buying Velvet Teddy but I really didn't like the colour- it was too pale for my skin tone. So I went for Persistence and I have never since lived to regret it.

I had been eyeing up Heroin for months and I am now so happy that it is now finally in my collection! Heroin is a gorgeous bright purple colour and it is the iconic product which made MAC famous. I think this lipstick brightens up any outfit/makeup look and it is just ever so gorgeous on the lip. I actually wore it in my recent South Beach Fitness post.

Do you like these MAC lipsticks? Do you have a current favourite MAC lipstick?

How Not To Use LUSH Products

When I used to work at LUSH I was told many bizarre stories and asked many silly questions. But when you aren't exactly familiar with the products, and given that that they are extremely fresh, who wouldn't mistake 'Cupcake' facemask for a chocolate mousse? (believe it or not Cupcake was often the main culprit). So gathering up my knowledge and reminiscing on some of those told strange stories, I've come up with the below list and I have also created a 'How Not To Use LUSH Products' video on YouTube. Please let me know if any of you, or know of anyone, who has ever done any of the below. It would be great to hear some of you stories in the comments.

1. Eating 'Refresher Shower Jelly' thinking it is real Jelly

2. Eating 'Cupcake' face mask thinking it is chocolate mousse

3. Using a massage bar thinking it is soap

4. Thinking 'Sexy Peel' soap is a block of cheese

5. Thinking 'Rose Jam' Bubbleroon is a real macaroon

6. What is this bath bomb? Is it a ball, soap?...

7. Using 'No Drought' Dry Shampoo as talc powder for the body

Above: click on the thumbnail to check out my new How Not To Use LUSH Products video
8. Mistaking Toothy tabs for a breath mint

9. Thinking 'Tangled' Hair Treatment is a lolly pop

10. 'Fun' as real play dough for the kids

Are you guilty any of the above? Let me know in the comments!

Pink Tie-Up Platform Heels By River Island

Firstly let’s all take a moment to appreciate the beauty of these shoes… yep they sure stole my heart away. What I love about these Pink Tie-Up Heels by River Island is that they remind me of a pair of ballet shoes, and being a keen ballet dancer for 10 years, they certainly brought back some fond memories. Some of you may have already noticed that I wore these shoes to the UK Blog Awards (post here). Despite how high they were, they were incredibly comfortable to walk in and my feet didn’t feel as though they were going to drop off (so none of the ol’ kicking off the heels at the end of the night). What made them so comfortable was the fact that you could tie up the straps around your ankles and hence giving that extra support. These heels are just perfect for Summer and I cannot wait to wear them again.

You can also style these straps in multiple ways! Why not go ‘all ballerina’ and criss-cross the straps up your leg or simply wrap them around your ankle for additional support. You can do this in any way you wish and I just love the fact that you have the option to do so.

Above: The outfit that I wore these heels with. Click on the thumbnail to check out my UK Blog Awards post
Would you buy these shoes? Do you have a current favourite pair?

THE REAL WALKING DEAD| Brokerswood Zombie Apocalypse

I literally had the best time on Saturday night and it involved being chased by zombies in a forest (yeah for real). For my friend Mark's 30 birthday, his wife arranged for us all to go camping and experience the Zombie Apocalypse (in the style of the Walking Dead and 28 Days Later) at Brokerswood Country Park in Wiltshire. I have never been so scared or physically pumped for such activity, and watching some of my friends bail onto the floor in sheer fright was just hilarious. The experience consisted of two games; the first being put into groups for a scavenger hunt, and the second was a 28 Days Later style 'free for all' zombie experience.

So in the first game we all had to be attached to one another (with carabiner clips and rope) and the idea was to follow a map to identify the key stations where we would collect our team's yellow glow sticks. However whilst navigating our way around the forest, zombies would jump out on us and start chasing us. It was honestly so much fun! Fortunately in this game my team managed to win in record time... my competitiveness nature sure did come out in this game!

The second game required us to all wear head torches because we were going to be in the forest, on our own, with zombies wondering about (this definitely would not be for you if you don't like being in the dark, or zombies for that matter). We also had to wear glow stick necklaces around our necks so that we could be noticeable to the zombies (we were pretty much walking targets). Once you got caught, you then turned into a zombie yourself- luckily I only got caught with three minutes to go!

Above: click on the thumbnail about to check out my new video
After the second game had ended, we headed back to the BBQ area to have some food and to toast some marshmallows on the fire. We then headed back to camp to hang out around the lake. Be sure to check out my YouTube video by clicking on the thumbnail above, there is seriously some good footage in there! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who loves a bit of an adventure (and of course the dark and zombies too!).

Would you do a zombie run like this?
